ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The Virginia Hamilton Literary Festival is a celebration of diverse voices and literature for young people, honoring the life and legacy of one of the most groundbreaking and celebrated writers in children’s literature.
With generous support from the Yellow Springs Community Foundation, one of the festival's key partners, the event is held in Virginia Hamilton’s hometown of Yellow Springs, Ohio. WYSO Radio, also a key partner, serves as host at the newly renovated historic Union School House where Hamilton attended elementary school.
The festival brings together acclaimed authors and illustrators from across the country for a joyful, all-ages celebration of books, creativity, and community.
Whether you’re an aspiring writer, an educator or librarian, a lifelong reader, or a family looking to spend a beautiful Saturday surrounded by books, creatives, and community, the Virginia Hamilton Literary Festival welcomes you.
